hrrrmmmmmm.....

You know what I will probably never understand about pre-teen girls, why everything has to be what everyone else wants and not what they want. Yes, I admit i've fallen for the "do what's cool" bit too, but definitely not as bad as my sister (and soon to be sisters) have it. If you're not understanding what this post is about, i will give enough examples for you to get the picture:
1) Spending at least an hour on your hair, and another ten minutes on your makeup
2) Going shopping every weekend and buying a shirt that is too tight, and made out of material that cost the designer three dollars, and they are now charging it for fifteen
3)Using my hair straightener when they've been told specifically not to use it
4)Using name-calling to try to get even
5)Expects you to clean the entire house up for her friend to come over while she stares at the mirror to make sure that she looks perfect
6)Refuses to buy anything that is from Wal-mart, Zellers, and other big-name discount stores
7)Stares at herself in the mirror and pouts her lip to see if she's looking any better
8)The only calls coming in are the ones from her friend...who she sees everyday, but believes something bad will happen to her reputation if she doesn't talk to her for at least an hour after school
9)Watches tv shows that are way out of her age group...aka gossip girl and other superficial dramas with sex scenes in it, and
10)Refuses to treat you like a human being unless that are witnesses around, or she wants you to drive her some where...

....oh superficial society, what have you done to my sisters???

You know what's more annoying than the sound of someone eating mushy food?.....

twelve and thirteen-year-old sisters....and their friends.

My life right now is as eventful as the Saskatchewan Landscape...

Man. Nothing is happening right now. I work friday....and i have a BIG chemistry test on Friday, which I have to do good on. And speaking of chemistry, I had to build a rocket out of a pop bottle....and yes, it was a group project....and notice how I did not say "we had to build a rocket out of a pop bottle"...i said I had to build a rocket out of a pop bottle. hmmm.....i think you all can get the hint (you being angela and tamara).

I've also started working out again (thank god). But because I suddenly have asthma from out of the blue, I almost died last night doing my ....walking video...thats right! I said it! W-A-L-K-I-N-G V-I-D-E-O! and since none of you other bloggers/creepers/tamara and ang can come down to where i live, i think it is safe to say that my reputation isn't that harmed.

I've also been really tired today...so tired that my eyes have been burning. which is greeeaat.

I'm reading this book by Stephen King, called 'it' and it is really good! it was actually really boring at first, but after you get into it, and gets really really good. The book is basically about this monster, that takes the main shape of a clown, and when it corners its victims, they see it as their biggest fear...like a mummy, or the monster from the black lagoon.. anyways, its really good. But, if i could change one thing about it, I find that his books contain WAY too many nude scenes, and total innappropriateness....but maybe its just me who's uncomfortable with some of the stuff he puts in them.

And i got my social project done, which you can tell from the fact that you are still here, and in no time since nov 4 did the universe implode...
But now, I have to go finish my math, for if i don't.......I will lose marks.

Jeez Louise....

Boy. I had promised to write on this thing at LEAST once a week....looks like i need to start getting into a habit. Now, nothing in my life is new or exciting. School sucks because of all the homework that we're getting...and work sucks because i'm not working until next weekend now.

Speaking of work, last Sunday, i got to work at the gemini awards. It was SO much fun! Well, it was until after the hoors d'oerves were served and I became instantly clumsy, and not able to do anything while we were serving supper. But i did get to meet some people that I admire so much, like Luba Goy. She's from the Real Canadian Air Farce, and when i was like, 8, i would be up at 6am watching her show, and I always loved her the best. So getting to meet her and talk to her for a few seconds was probably the highlight of my night. I also saw some recognizable faces, such as the (pretty much) entire cast of corner gas, kevin newman....and....lots of people from little mosque on the prairie. And, i also saw the person i wanted to see most for literally a second before he dashed off....yes, it was the hunky, adorable, slightly -badass George Strombolopolous (i probably butchered the name there). That was definetly another highlight of my night, although he is much shorter than you'd think he is....i think he may have even been a little shorter than i am. But still, it's George, and you love him no matter what.

So that's my work life....and speaking of work, i'm really excited because next saturday me and a girl from work are going to get tickets to the Hedley concert. So I am very very excited about that. I actually just bought there new cd a few days ago, and its probably five times better than they're first cd, and i loved their first one. So now i'm just hoping that the concert isn't going to be sold out by next saturday.

I'm also realizing that i hate my social teacher. He's rude, yells alot, and hates me. I actually have a social project that i should be working on....oh well. He's assigned this other project as well where you have to talk about your families history, and from talking to a few people, it's obvious that everyone is making it all up. So that should be a quick enough assignment, because all you'll have to do is google up a place from wherever your family came from, and then just talk about how your family felt when they migrated over here. It's a pretty dumb assignment if you ask me...and not because you learn about your family and stuff, thats actually a good idea. But for a grade twelve class, it makes it seem like he thinks that we have nothing better to do than to research our family. But really, the people I have met at my school, really don't even have time to stop running and take a break. So how he thinks that we're going to actually research all of this stuff, i'll never know.

I've also discovered some disappointing news....Regina doesn't have a 3d theather capable of showing the nightmare before christmas in 3d. This of course, is very disappointing because as it is my favourite movie of all time, not being able to see it in 3d just plain out sucks. I was told by our Imax that if i really wanted to see it, the closest place i would have to go to would be either Calgary or Edmonton...and that just made me miss home even more!

Anyways, gotta go and finish my social.....for if i don't, the whole universe will implode!

life was so much easier when boys had cooties....

Oh man. Totally crushing. It's been what, not even a week, and there's already someone catching my attention. It's funny how over summer, I promised myself not to let boys get in the way of my learning...I was using that for an excuse anyways... and here I am, as I said before, not even a week into school. And I'm crushing. And of course, he is the typical jerk jock with a pinch of boy-next-door, and a dash of smartness which rounds him off perfectly. And, as always, he is way out of my league. There always seems to be a girl smarter, or prettier who seems to catch the eye of this cutie, while I stand by on the sidelines and watch with my infected eye. But, we talked for the first time today, and I am pretty sure that my blushing and the fact that i was stuttering were both very noticeable, and may have given away my secret crush.

In other news, my eye is officialy healing *knock on wood*. It was looking quite grody for a while, but it is now slowly but ever so itchily, healing. I showed two of my friends the picture of my eye, and both reactions were said with disgusted amusement...which is always the best kind.

The weather is quite bad today...chilly and cloudy. But for once, I am not wanting to cozy up under a blanket and wish for summer to come back (has it already left ?). No, instead, I have pulled on sweats and a baggy t-shirt, and am planning to stay like that for the rest of the night. Which also means that there is no way I am going to be leaving the house tonight.

I am also applying for a job on Tuesday, at a building where all of the big concerts are held. I'm not sure yet if there is the best place for me to work, just because I feel as if I should be doing something more....fun(?). But, we will see if I am going to get hired but this big building. But I believe I will because my cousin and I are applying, and my cousin has definite connections.

Well, I am now off to go and cozy into a blanket and wish for summer (jk).

Oh No!

Three words for you before I go to bed...

Too Much Homework.... who knew the begining of the rest of our lives was going to be so challenging....

Ohmylordy...

So today's blog is going to be really short. And the reason for that is because I am already feeling the pressures of school to get exceedingly good marks. And for me to get an exceedingly good mark in chemistry 30, I am having to relearn all of chem 20 in three days (three weekend days, i might add). So my today has been filled with moles, and aluminum and electrons...not exactly what I was wanting to deal with on my first weekend after school started. Another thing school related that is quite bothersome is the fact that my social teacher has decided that my class would benefit by labeling the map of Canada...and no, you were wrong if you thought the major cities and provinces...we also have to label about 20 different lakes and rivers. Now, I would understand the importance of this assignment if we were going to have to study the main lakes and rivers of Canada...but when the curriculum states that you must learn about globalization and consumerism for a semester...it makes you wonder if this project is just a big waste of time (?).

Today was quite exciting for me, because for the past seven months, the one computer my family owns was in my room...meaning that i never had any privacy because i have a (now) thirteen year old sister (need i say more?). So, after many months of complaining, my father has finally decided to move the computer out of my room, and into my basement. I can't describe how happy it makes me, but at the same time...I felt as if I were immature for all those times that I complained about not having any privacy in my room...considering the fact that at the moment, our house has three bedrooms, and five people...so I'm the only family member not having to share a room. And now I have all the privacy I want...but does that count me as being immature or spoiled?

The First of Many

Alright. my first blog post. how exciting! i don't exactly know what you're supposed to put onto these things...so this is my attempt. Things have been quite intense the last week....well, more intense than what i'm used to in boring ol' saskatchewan. You see, it's that time of year again that all high school students dread, and little kids and commercial stores look forward to...yes, school. Now, had I been going to a high school where i actually knew people, i don't think that this week would have been so terrible...but of course, i know no one at my school because people here tend to be very specific when it comes to the type of people that they will associate themselves with.

As well, this year is grade twelve for me...and oh my god (!) I don't know if I am ready for it. I guess that we will just have to se what is going to end up happening...and I have a feeling that the next ten months will be some, if not completely, of the toughest months that I have ever experienced. Take chemistry 30 for example... I didn't pay attention in chemistry 20 (through no fault of my own) and I now am having to have my father AND my chemistry teacher teaching me stuff outside of school...on my own time...when I could be doing less productive things...such as watching tv...or the latest brotherhood 2.0 video.

Today and yesterday have also marked the days of my sisters birthdays. On the less desirable side, the past two days have been filled with spoiled "teeny-boppers" (as my parents say) who request that they don't clean or get treated unfairly. But, on the much more desirable side, the past two days have meant two days of eating cake. mmmmm. I must say that after the cake is gone, it will seem as if having no cake is quite out of the ordinary. The past two days have also been quite warm, so now, with the air conditioner borrowed from my grandmother, my parents have set it up...but now it is too cold in my house, and i risk the threat of losing my toes and fingers at any second. It seems amazing how hard it is to be the perfect temperature, and when it is too cold, people will complain that they want heat, but when it is too hot, people will long for the cold winters. How ironic...

One more thing that I would like to write about tonight, are my friends. I miss them entirely too much, and am hoping that I will some day soon be able to travel across plain, flat saskatchewan, into beautiful Alberta. Right now they are probably trying to soak up the last few moments of summer before school starts for them, so I am wishing them all the best in their attempts to enjoy the remaining moments that they have before grade twelve...or the begining of the rest of our lives, you could say...begins.
