How the time flies...

Studying for finals makes you do out of the ordinary things. Like this, for instance. I hadn't realized that it was been a whole year since I put in my last post. So many things have happened within one year, that it's kind of scary.

For starters, graduating high school. It was such a big accomplishment for me. But not for the reasons that others may expect. Graduation was important for me because it meant that I was one step closer into getting into post secondary and learning to become something I've wanted to be since I was a wee one. Secondly, graduating meant that I actually got through the second high school that I have been to. It meant I no longer had to spend it with individuals who didn't care about school, or post secondary, but instead on hair, makeup, and grabbing the football players attention. Which is nothing like who I am.

Family matters have also drastically changed. Now, my family has been 'shunned'-for lack of a better term- for the one reason that we moved in the first place. I find this ironic, but unsurprising. It may seem a little unsettling that I no longer speak with my extended family (except for my cousin, and my grandmother...but because she is my grandmother), but I feel like our family is much happier where we are living now, without the unnecessary drama that was added into our lives by them.

This year has also given me the opportunity to meet more people like me in college. I have great friends now *knock on wood* that I really feel like I can relate to (don't worry cowtown friends, you're not forgotten). Generally, this past year has been filled with a 100% increase in happiness levels.

pps. if any of my friends were thinking of going on a little adventure, I'm looking for someone to go to africa with me so that I can go shark-cage diving...don't worry. I'm not going to do it until i am 25, so you guys still have a while to decide.
